Dr Filipa Sa
Senior Lecturer
Filipa Sá is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at King's College London. Her main research interests are international macroeconomics and labour economics. Her work in international macroeconomics covers issues such as capital flows, portfolio choice and current account sustainability. Her research in labour economics covers topics such as migration, hours of work and employment protection legislation. Prior to joining King's, she was an economist in the International Finance Division of the Bank of England and a lecturer at Trinity College Cambridge. She holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MSc from the LSE.

Deborah Sabalot is an English solicitor and a US attorney who has specialized in financial services law and regulation for over twenty five years. She advises banks and other financial institutions including investment managers and advisers on a wide range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters. She also provides specialist advice to other City law firms and their clients on these matters. Deborah is a professional associate of Outer Temple Chambers, one of the premier sets of commercial barristers in London. She is the consultant editor of the Butterworths Securities and Financial Services Law Handbook which is now in its 12th edition and she has recently been made a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and is working on a book on fiduciary duties and regulatory rules in the financial services industry. Prior to establishing her own law practice, Deborah Sabalot was a partner of Landwell (PwC Legal), the associated law firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers from 2002 to 2005. She had held an “of counsel” role at Lovells from 2000 to 2002. Prior to 2000 Deborah was Director of Regulatory Services at KPMG (1995-2000) and was a senior lawyer in Clifford Chance's Financial Services Group (1988 – 1995).

Dr. Georgios Samakovitis (MEng; MSc; MBA; FHEA) is a Principal Lecturer in the area of Business Systems Strategy / Enterprise Architectures at the Dept. of Computing & Information Systems, University of Greenwich. He is also the Academic Conduct Officer for the School. Georgios is a Computer Engineer with a background in 3D Medical Imaging Systems development and Wireless Networking Technologies. His active research involvement extends the areas of intelligent financial fraud detection / anti-money laundering, financial Information systems and technological investment decision-making. In addition to his research activity, Georgios has also worked in IS Consultancy (Strategic Systems Integration and EA design). He specialises in Technological Investment Decision-making in Banking and is currently leading a research project on Intelligent Financial Fraud Detection (FFD) systems.
