Dr Ingmar Nolte
Reader in Finance
Dr. Ingmar Nolte is a Reader in Finance at Lancaster University Management School. Before he held Associate and Assistant Professorships at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. He was a Visiting Professor and Research Associate in the Department of Economics at the University of Konstanz and a Visiting Fellow at the universities of Aarhus, Copenhagen and Konstanz. His core research interests lie in financial econometrics, market microstructure and forecasting. He is interested in the application and development of microeconometric techniques (such as discrete choice, count data, intensity, duration, etc. models) for real world finance problems. This involves extending and developing these techniques to time series and panel frameworks. In the past he used such models to gain a better understanding of the disaggregated trading process, which involves understanding the behaviour of individual market participants, such as traders, brokers and analysts. He has done work both theoretically and applied on (multivariate) realised volatility and is also interested in macro-forecasting both with continuous and qualitative data.

Dr Marco Nunez
Research Fellow
An aeronautical engineer with 5+ years’ experience in Engineering Design, Modelling&Simulation and Multidisciplinary Design Optimisation (MDO). The experience I acquired in different aeronautical disciplines throughout my professional development and degree courses (BSc, MSc, PhD) allows me to interface with different engineering areas, from experimental work in wind tunnels to the implementation of numerical algorithms. The European FP6/FP7 research projects where I have been involved so far have given me also the possibility to develop the skills to deal directly with clients, understanding their expectations and requirements, deriving the work tasks to be conducted and delivering valued solutions. My ability to coordinate teams has been improved by leading interdisciplinary activities in collaborative research environments and through the co-supervision of PhD students. I have also proven to deliver work of the highest quality within tight deadlines by working individually or in team.
