Dr Graham Squires
Senior Lecturer - Urban Economics and Real Estate
Dr Graham Squires is a Senior Lecturer in Urban Economics and Real Estate at UWE-Bristol in the United Kingdom. His research interests include economics (urban and environmental), development, real estate, spatial planning, housing, neighbourhoods and regeneration. He has written academic books and journal articles, in addition to working on various consultancy projects in policy and practice. He recently completed a Visiting Scholarship at the University of California Berkeley, sponsored by the Fulbright US-UK Visiting Scholarship Program, and co-sponsored by a UK accreditation body RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). His recent research critically analyses the financing of cities by examining and learning lessons into how key stakeholders in real estate development engage with city finance in the new economic landscape. He is sole author of a recent book publication titled Urban and Environmental Economics.

Iain Staffell is a multi-disciplinary scientist working within the Organisation & Management Group at Imperial College Business School. He holds degrees in Physics (BSc), the Physics and Technology of Nuclear Reactors (MSc), and Chemical Engineering (PhD). He started his career at the University of Birmingham, overseeing the first field trial of a fuel cell vehicle (FCV) fleet in the UK, then moving to Economics to model the impact that investment in wind power will have on the national grid. His research has focussed on the technical and economic aspects of low carbon energy. His current research is investigating the potential of an interconnected super-grid and smart energy storage systems to reduce the cost and carbon emissions of generating electricity across Europe.
