(ELS) since 2003 and is an external lecturer in the fields of contaminated land, hydrogeology and risk assessment at Queen’s University Belfast, School of Planning Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPACE). Dawn has designed, coordinated and completed subsurface intrusive investigations at numerous industrial and commercial sites impacted by a range of organic and in-organic contaminants. The works included preparation of interpretative reports, qualitative and quantitative risk assessments and recommendations for remediation alternatives. Dawn has also investigated and coordinated emergency response, mitigation and remediation measures at over one-hundred commercial and residential oil spills on behalf of insurers, loss adjusters, owners/operators and legal experts. These projects have included services to investigate the extent of contamination, complete specifications for remediation, remediation options appraisal, and coordination of remediation according to the requirements of the regulatory authorities and the client needs. Throughout Dawn’s international career across a number of multi-national consulting firms she has been leading in providing appropriate environmental solutions for a range of medium to large scale clients as well as heading business development in the areas of environmental liability assessment, management and communication.
